Negative Declarations In Disguise

Do you know that some positive statements are actually negative? This may sound a little strange but let's take a look at a three examples:

  1. I am not going to fear this.
  2. I am not afraid
  3. I am determined to get out of debt.

In the first declaration, what you really mean is that you are not going to allow fear to take hold of you, which sounds positive right?

However your brain catches that word "not" and turns this statement into negative ones. Why? Your brain focuses on two main negative words in those declarations: not and fear (afraid). Both statement No 1 and the sentence above this paragraph fall into these traps.

Declaration No 2 is the same. Again there are two negative words - not and afraid.

But what about the third declaration? I am determined to get out of debt. Isn't this not a positive statement?

The word "debt" stimulates a very negative image in your mind right? That is because the word debt really is a negative word and is definitely linked to negative emotions and experiences in most people's minds.

So you really don't want to use the word "debt" when making positive statements or affirmations.

Here is a real positive statement you could use instead:

  • I am financially free!  or
  • Every bill is paid before time every month.
  • I am living the marvelous financially free lifestyle
